International pop artist Nelson De La Nuez will be personally appearing at the Bruce Lurie Gallery for an artist's champagne and wine reception on Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 6:00-10:00 pm. The Nelson De La Nuez 'Pop Icons' show will be comprised of original works, limited edition pieces, and brand new releases. The artist will also have his coffee table books, 'Pop Americana: The Pop Art of Nelson De La Nuez' available for signing. The 'Pop Icons' show will run in its entirety from Thursday, August 15th, which is an advanced Preview night, through September 7th, with the artist's rotating body of work remaining at the gallery on a permanent basis.
Lifetime to Celebrate PROJECT RUNWAY Anniversary With NYC Virtual Runway

To celebrate PROJECT RUNWAY's milestone 10th anniversary, Lifetime, in partnership with Friends of the High Line, will transform a portion of the High Line in New York City into a virtual runway with a dynamic, 20-foot long, interactive installation on the elevated park featuring the stars of the Emmy(R) Award-nominated hit show host Heidi Klum, mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.

An afternoon of music, art and fashion comes to Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach when Pacific Symphony's prized support group, the Pacific Symphony League, hosts a fund-raising luncheon to benefit music education programs. Chaired by League member Gwen Williams-fashion entrepreneur, performer and art collector-the luncheon features renowned Beverly Hills designer Ricco Antonio showcasing his latest custom-designed dresses and evening gowns in a fashion show, with music by vocalist and digital keyboard player Jim Roberts. The setting is embellished with original artwork by celebrity artist Pilar Wayne and music by the Laguna Flutes, led by the Symphony's own flute and piccolo player, Cynthia Ellis, which provide an eclectic, jazzy and fresh mix of flute arrangements. Livening up the event even more are both a silent and live auction.
