Lizzy Booth Headshot

BIO

Lizzy Booth is a NYC-based Actor, Director, Producer, Playwright, Artist, & Shakespeare Lover. At the core of Lizzy’s work is a deep devotion to exploring the complexities of human nature through art, as she believes that theater, in all its forms, is a powerful tool for fostering empathy, personal growth, and community. Lizzy is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting’s Professional Conservatory. She also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Holy Apostles College with a Bachelor’s Degree in English in the Humanities and Philosophy. Lizzy’s love for the works of Shakespeare lit a major fire behind her love for the arts. Lizzy was first exposed to Shakespeare’s plays in third grade, when she had the opportunity to play Puck in a local production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Ever since then, Lizzy has been fascinated by the relevance, nuance, and simple humanity in classical works and is committed to keeping their legacies alive in adventurous, exciting ways. She has acted in, directed, and produced countless Shakespearean works, and she founded the Masquerade Theatre in order to continue to make Shakespeare accessible to modern audiences. The play’s the thing!

BWW Review: Pan Origin Story PETER AND THE STARCATCHER at Ridgefield Theater Barn
by Bruce Apar - Jun 9, 2022

The show made a splash on Broadway a dozen years ago, garnering several Tony Awards, mainly in the craft categories (scenic design, sound, lighting, choreography). The sketchy book is like a sketchbook of rapid-fire episodes that leans heavily on the strength of the ensemble to pull it off. This ensemble is more than up to the task.
BWW Review: PETER AND THE STAR CATCHER at Ridgefield Theater Barn
by Sean Fallon - Jun 4, 2022

On Friday, June 3, I had the pleasure of seeing PETER AND THE STAR CATCHER at the Ridgefield Theater Barn in Ridgefield, CT.  This play with music was written by Rick Elise.  This stellar cast’s talents come alive under the first-rate team of director Katherine Ray, assistant director Rae Janeil Sutherland and choreographer Sharon Houk.   It is not a musical in the traditional sense, but the use of song is incorporated throughout, resembling a musical in certain parts.  It is obvious that these cast members are having a wonderful time up on stage, bringing positive energy that radiates throughout the audience, with excellent stage chemistry between the cast.
