The Judy Levis Markhoff Boca Raton Jewish Film Festival is pleased to announce the Florida premiere of the award-winning #1 Canadian movie musical STAND! on March 14th, 2020.

Although STAND! is full of romance, it is boldly honest in its historical depictions. Xenophobia and racism take centre stage in the story. Canada gets at best an ambivalent treatment, as a place where the lucky are lucky but the unlucky struggle just to avoid harm. One of the central questions of the film is the conflict between individual and institution - a defining issue in North America going into 2020 as well.

Director Robert Adetuyi (Stomp the Yard, Bring It On) and Juno and Kobzar-Award-winning writers Danny Schur and Rick Chafe present their new movie musical STAND! at the Royal Theater in Toronto September 9-11.  

Boulder, CO-based singer-songwriter Lisa Bell is set to release her fifth album, Back Seat, on September 6, 2019.  Already known as a musically diverse Americana artist with jazz influences, Lisa Bell shifts gears with the release, compiling a potent album that nods to the influences that have helped sharpen her sound — including laidback R&B, melodic soul, and American roots music — while also pushing into contemporary, Triple A-friendly territory. Gluing the mix together are Bell's expressive voice and ever-evolving writing chops, which combine to tell the story of an empty nester who, having spent years raising her children, is ready to climb back into the driver's seat and chase down new dreams. The album was produced by Evan Reeves.

Next week's quarter finals of the 2017 "MetroStar Talent Challenge" features thirteen exciting talents vying to become the 10th MetroStar Talent Challenge winner.  MetroStar's Top 13 is a baker's dozen of singers from a variety of backgrounds, including Broadway and cabaret, as well as a number of brand new talents, like 16-year-old Jackie Mate, who are hoping to make a big splash in their cabaret debuts.

In an ironic twist, 'Off the Rails: Songs of the Subway', has gone 'off the rails'. Due to a signal malfunction (aka unforeseen circumstances), this tongue-in-cheek cabaret about the trails and tribulations of the MTA has been re-scheduled to Thursday, July 27 at 9.30pm, from it's previous Friday, June 30 date.
