In an ironic twist, "Off the Rails: Songs of the Subway", has gone "off the rails". Due to a signal malfunction (aka unforeseen circumstances), this tongue-in-cheek cabaret about the trails and tribulations of the MTA has been re-scheduled to Thursday, July 27 at 9.30pm, from it's previous Friday, June 30 date.

When it arrives at The Duplex, AnaLisa Bell will transform the cabaret theater into her own subway car and will take you for a ride with original songs like "Manspreaders", "PDA on the MTA" and a spoof rap about the Showtime boys!

Bell has lived in New York City for 2 and a half years, moving to the Big Apple after a successful cabaret career in her native Australia, and in that time, she's seen and experienced all the quirkiness the subway has to offer. She started posting about her subway encounters on Facebook, and friends kept commenting, "You should write a show about this!" And so, she's done just that!

Complete with a mix of new original songs, co-written by Bell and New York-based singer-songwriter Pat Deeney, and Sydney-based maestro Tim Cunniffe, as well as some older, existing material such as, Petula Clark's "Don't Sleep on the Subway", and a fun Sesame Street tune from the 70's entitled, "The Subway", the show gives Bell a platform (pun intended) to air out her frustrations about rising fares and the increased amount of delays.

Bell's mentor, Tony Award-winning Broadway star Faith Prince says, "AnaLisa Bell is an Australian treasure! With a dash of Aussie quirkiness, a pinch of pathos and stellar voice, she creates an enchanting journey!"

AnaLisa Bell was born and raised in Australia. She graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2000, and has since performed in a number of musicals and theatre productions in Oz, including Oklahoma, Les Miserables and The Vagina Monologues (2007 ITA Best Actress Award). As a critically acclaimed cabaret performer, she toured the cabaret and festival circuits in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth before moving to NYC at the end of 2014. She is an Alumni of the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, won the 2015 Annual Broadway Spring Festival Shana Farr Cabaret Competition, was a Semi-Finalist in the 2016 MetroStar Challenge at the Metropolitan Room, and has performed at the Metropolitan Room, The Duplex and 54 Below. She is currently mentored by Faith Prince.
