Ohio State Murders officially opened last night on Broadway. Starring Emmy, Grammy, and Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald and directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Ohio State Murders is the first show to play at the renamed and renovated James Earl Jones Theatre.

The Jamaican bobsled team caught up with Hart virtually from Beijing as they prepare to compete. Joining the interview was Leon Robinson who starred in 1993 fan-favorite Cool Runnings. This is the first time in over 20 years that Jamaica has competed in the 4-man bobsled competition on the Olympic stage.

On Sunday, October 17, Columbus native and author Wil Haygood and Hollywood director and actor Robert Townsend will be live on stage at the Lincoln Theatre to discuss Black filmmaking and the history of Blacks in the film industry.

National Dance Institute (NDI), the non-profit arts education organization founded in 1976 by legendary New York City Ballet principal dancer Jacques d'Amboise, hosted its 43rd Annual Gala at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City. The annual event, which is NDI's largest fundraising event of the year, annually raises $1.5 million with all proceeds benefitting NDI's award-winning arts education programs.

According to Deadline, Robert Townsend is aiming to bring a stage version of his 1991 film The Five Heartbeats to Broadway. Townsend will write the play with Keenan Ivory Wayans, who also wrote the screenplay.

Playwright Ericka Nicole Malone is looking to take her popular Gospel Musical "In Love with Tyrone" to the Big Apple and is currently in talks with directors and producers to bring the touring show to Broadway for a run on the "Great White Way." Malone has partnered with a famed New York City General Manager and Tony Award-winning Producer, who has produced past and current shows on Broadway.

Directed by Mutrux, Baby It's You! is about the passion and determination of New Jersey housewife Florence Greenberg, who in the 1960?s built one of the most successful-ever independent record companies with such discoveries like The Shirelles and found forbidden love.
