SHOWTIME has released the official trailer for the fifth and final season of the critically acclaimed, Golden Globe®-winning SHOWTIME drama series THE AFFAIR. Premiering on Sunday, August 25 at 9 p.m. ETPT, the series stars Golden Globe nominee Dominic West, Golden Globe winner Maura Tierney and Sanaa Lathan. Created by WGA Award-winning playwright, writer, executive producer and showrunner Sarah Treem (House of Cards, In Treatment), the series explores the emotional and psychological effects of an affair that destroyed two marriages, and the crime that brings these individuals back together. Horror Film SLENDER MAN Being Shopped Around Amid Clash Between Sony & Producers

According to Variety, the distribution right of the forthcoming horror film SLENDER MAN is currently being shopped around. The film was originally set to be released by Sony Pictures, but there is word of disagreements between the company and the films producers. The arguments stem differing opinions over how Sony considers it a more low budget picture, while the producers see it as more of a big screen blockbuster. When I first heard about Showtime's new drama THE AFFAIR, I was a bit confused. The majority of the premium channel's new shows boast a major star in the lead; William H. Macy in SHAMELESS, Don Cheadle in HOUSE OF LIES, Liev Schreiber in RAY DONOVAN, Matt LeBlanc in EPISODES… ok maybe they don't all have a big star. However, the most well-known actor in THE AFFAIR is Charlie Conway, Pacey Witter, Peter Bishop, Joshua Jackson, and he's not even one of the main stars. That dubious honor belongs to THE WIRE's Dominic West and LUTHER's Ruth Wilson. Also rounding out the main characters is the always delightful, but hardly a household name, Maura Tierney.
