Horror Film SLENDER MAN Being Shopped Around Amid Clash Between Sony & Producers

According to Variety, the distribution right of the forthcoming horror film SLENDER MAN is currently being shopped around. The film was originally set to be released by Sony Pictures, but there is word of disagreements between the company and the films producers. The arguments stem differing opinions over how Sony considers it a more low budget picture, while the producers see it as more of a big screen blockbuster. This, in turn, causes controversy in the marketing roll out. The film was slated for August release. Read more about the news from Variety here!

The producers of the film have reportedly shown it to Netflix and Amazon, after triggering a part of their contract that says they are able to solicit higher bids. It is fairly rare to have a film being shopped around so close to its release date.

In a small town in Massachusetts, four high school girls perform a ritual in an attempt to debunk the lore of SLENDER MAN. When one of the girls goes mysteriously missing, they begin to suspect that she is, in fact, HIS latest victim.
