The Notre Dame Shakespeare Festival has announced Hamlet 50/50, a new adaptation of Shakespeare's classic drama, performing August 17-27, 2023 in the beautiful Patricia George Decio Theatre at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center, on the campus of the University of Notre Dame.

THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, a family-friendly, fun world premiere musical, comes to First Stage this March. Based on the bestselling book by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Adam Rex, First Stage Playwright in Residence John Maclay wrote the book and lyrics with Eric Nordin, also doing music and lyrics. First Stage favorite Kelly Doherty, (outstanding as Miss Trunchbull in last season's hit MATILDA The Musical), will be making her First Stage directing debut with this production.

Peninsula Players Theatre presented a reading of James Hindman's 'Popcorn Falls' on Monday, February 3, to a capacity crowd at Björklunden. The new two-person comedy is set in the sleepy town of Popcorn Falls, whose only claim to fame - their namesake waterfall - has dried up. An arts grant can save the town, but the Mayor and other townsfolks must mount a play within a week.

'Popcorn Falls' will perform on Monday, February 3 at 7 p.m. at Björklunden, located at 7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor. 'Popcorn Falls' is produced with support from and in coordination with Door County Reads and its exploration of 'Virgil Wander' by Leif Engel. General seating is available and admission is free.

The 51st Annual Jeff Awards Ceremony took place on October 21, 2019, during a spirited evening at Drury Lane Oakbrook. 'Frankenstein,' produced by Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, took home five awards, including Best Production a?' Play in the Midsize category. Court Theatre also took home five awards, including the coveted Ensemble Award for 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf' and four awards for a?oePhotograph 51.a?? Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of 'Downstate' received the Jeff Award for Best Production - Play in the Large category. The award for Best Production - Musical in the Large category went to 'Six' at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the award for Best Production - Musical in the Midsize category went to 'Caroline, or Change,' produced by Firebrand Theatre in partnership with TimeLine Theatre Company.
