Audiences can stream this new play reading anytime between September 11 a?" 13 for no cost on First Stage's YouTube channel, and then participate in a live online discussion with the writers and directors on Sunday, September 13 at 7 pm, also on YouTube. THE LEGEND OF ROCK, PAPER, SCISSORS, a family-friendly, fun world premiere musical, comes to First Stage this March. Based on the bestselling book by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Adam Rex, First Stage Playwright in Residence John Maclay wrote the book and lyrics with Eric Nordin, also doing music and lyrics. First Stage favorite Kelly Doherty, (outstanding as Miss Trunchbull in last season's hit MATILDA The Musical), will be making her First Stage directing debut with this production.

Peninsula Players Theatre presented a reading of James Hindman's 'Popcorn Falls' on Monday, February 3, to a capacity crowd at Björklunden. The new two-person comedy is set in the sleepy town of Popcorn Falls, whose only claim to fame - their namesake waterfall - has dried up. An arts grant can save the town, but the Mayor and other townsfolks must mount a play within a week.

Peninsula Players will present a reading of 'Popcorn Falls,' a new two-person comedy by James Hindman. 'Popcorn Falls' will perform on Monday, February 3 at 7 p.m. at Björklunden, located at 7590 Boynton Lane, Baileys Harbor. 'Popcorn Falls' is produced with support from and in coordination with Door County Reads and its exploration of 'Virgil Wander' by Leif Engel. General seating is available and admission is free.

The indefatigable Jeeves and his balmy employer Bertie Wooster are back. Once again, Bertie finds himself suffering the slings and arrows of misfortune at the hands of his relatives, caught between the magisterial machinations of his fierce Aunt Agatha and the plaintive pleadings of his cousin Egbert. Throw in the imperious Sir Roderick Glossop and the sexy chanteuse Red Hot Maisie Dawson, and you've got another precarious predicament that cannot be overcomea??unless one calls upon the redoubtable Jeeves to save the day.

The 51st Annual Jeff Awards Ceremony took place on October 21, 2019, during a spirited evening at Drury Lane Oakbrook. 'Frankenstein,' produced by Remy Bumppo Theatre Company, took home five awards, including Best Production a?' Play in the Midsize category. Court Theatre also took home five awards, including the coveted Ensemble Award for 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf' and four awards for a?oePhotograph 51.a?? Steppenwolf Theatre Company's production of 'Downstate' received the Jeff Award for Best Production - Play in the Large category. The award for Best Production - Musical in the Large category went to 'Six' at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and the award for Best Production - Musical in the Midsize category went to 'Caroline, or Change,' produced by Firebrand Theatre in partnership with TimeLine Theatre Company.

Eleven world premiere plays and musicals seen first by Chicago audiences were among those receiving nominations by the Jeff Awards, announced today. A total of 192 nominations were made in 34 categories that honor Chicago Equity theatrical productions that opened between August 1, 2018 and July 31, 2019. During the 2018-19 season, Jeff Awards judges attended opening nights of 132 Equity productions offered by 43 producing organizations and from these openings, 112 productions were a?oeJeff Recommendeda?? and eligible for award nominations.
