Featuring stars of Broadway hits Jersey Boys, Motown: The Musical and Chazz Palminteri's A Bronx Tale, The Doo Wop Project traces the evolution of Doo Wop, from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. DWP takes the audience on a journey from the songs of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, and The Four Seasons all the way to 'DooWopified' versions of modern musicians like Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz and Maroon 5. The Doo Wop Project comes to The Ridgefield Playhouse Wednesday, March 25 at 7:30pm, part of Northern Trust Broadway & Cabaret Series with support from Teed & Brown, and Pepsi Rock Series powered by Xfinity.

What with all the creativity being expressed onstage at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre during the run of the Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys, it should come as no surprise that imaginations were just as active - and as fertile - backstage. Moonlight Presents offers two holiday events in December at the Moonlight Amphitheatre. Sponsored by Dr. Bronner's, the shows include the Doo Wop Project Christmas, featuring stars of Broadway's "Jersey Boys" and "Motown: the Musical," on Sat., Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. Amongst the singers is San Diego native Charl Brown who began his musical theatre journey as a student at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He would go on to appearing in a number of shows locally, including The Moonlight's "Ragtime" in 2002, before going on to Broadway. Tickets are priced $15 - $40. On Sat., Dec. 8, experience the holiday favorite "Home Alone" on a big screen with pre-movie activities including a snow play area for the kids. Tickets are $5 or $10. Both shows are on sale now through VisTix at moonlightstage.com and by phone at (760) 724-2110.

'Broken At Love,' a semi-autobiographical dramedy web series, brings its third season to New York and adds some of Broadway's leading men to the mix. The series centers around idealistic Vivienne 'Vivie' Taylor (Karolina Sivas), who gets the rare chance to meet her celebrity crush, professional tennis player Holden Gregory, and her life is turned upside down as a result. What starts as a crush turns into much more with friends, family, and competing love interests further complicating things along the way. In Season 3, Vivie takes her broken heart to NYC for new beginnings and to make a web series about the guy who broke her. The series is created by and stars USC grad/LA Web Fest Best Lead Actress and Best Writer winner Karolina Sivas.
