THE DOO WOP PROJECT to Bring Harmony to Ridgefield Playhouse

By:
Stars of Broadway's Jersey Boys and Motown: The Musical are set to take stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse for a night full of songs and stories! The Doo Wop Project is an homage to classic Doo Wop and the music that was inspired by that sound.

It's a night of classic hits by every standard for every generation! Along with their hot band, the talented Broadway performers will dazzle you with a night filled with harmonies and classic '60s hits such as Randy & The Rainbows' "Denise," Thurston Harris' "Little Bitty Pretty One," The Skyliners "Since I Don't Have You," The Capris' "Morse Code of Love," and many more!

Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series and Pepsi Rock Series Powered by Xfinity presents The Doo Wop Project on Sunday, December 4 at 8 p.m. They start at the beginning, tracing the evolution of Doo Wop from the classic sound of five guys singing tight harmonies on a street corner to the biggest hits on the radio today. Throughout the show The Doo Wop Project takes audiences on a journey from foundational tunes of groups like the Crests, Belmonts and Flamingos through their influences on the sounds of Smokey Robinson, the Temptations, and the Four Seasons all the way to Michael Jackson, Jason Mraz and Amy Winehouse! The Doo Wop Project is a night of songs mixed with individual stories and references to their upbringings and experiences in the business, particularly backstage at The August Wilson Theatre, home of Jersey Boys, where the idea for the group was conceived.

Make it a great night out with dinner and a show - visit Luna Rossa (90 Danbury Road) and enjoy a special 3-course pre-show menu when you show your ticket.

The Doo Wop Project features Dominic Nolfi (Jersey Boys, Motown: The Musical), Charl Brown (Smokey Robinson in Motown: The Musical, Jersey Boys, Sister Act), John Michael Dias (Jersey Boys), Russell Fischer (Jersey Boys), Dominic Scaglione, Jr. (currently playing the role of Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys) and Dwayne Cooper (Motown: The Musical, Hairspray) The Doo Wop Project brings unparalleled authenticity of sound and vocal excellence to recreate and in some cases entirely re-imagine songs.
