Acclaimed writer and actor Alex Gwyther (Our Friends, The Enemy; Eyes Closed, Ears Covered) will perform in the world premiere of his gripping and tender new play Ripped at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, playing Underbelly, Cowgate, (venue 61) from 1-25 August (excl. 12) at 13:00. The one-man play will preview at The Actors Centre, London, on 22 and 23 July.

BroadwayWorld reported today that trailblazing dancer, director, and choreographer Dame Gillian Lynne has passed away. According to a tweet sent by her official Twitter account, she passed away tonight, July 1, at 6:20pm at the Princess Grace Hospital. The Broadway community took to social media to share memories and condolences. See some of the tributes below.

Jonathan Harvey's landmark play Beautiful Thing is the next production to be released by Digital Theatre. Yesterday, Digital Theatre released its first trailer from Beautiful Thing. Celebrating its 20th anniversary year, Digital Theatre captured Beautiful Thing during its acclaimed run at the West End's Arts Theatre.
