Colin Sphar

Colin Sphar is a US actor originally from Sacramento, who lives in Chicago and performs around the country. He's been a co-creator, producer, and collaborator on projects including the variety show The You're So Special, a play reading series of A. Rey Pamatmat's Safe, Three Queer Plays, and the Back Room Shakespeare Project. Colin has received Ovation, Joseph Jefferson, and Elly Awards for his work.

Theatre credits include: Suzan-Lori Parks's SALLY & TOM directed by Timothy Douglas (Round House Theatre), the U.S. premiere of Laura Wade's POSH directed by Jonathan Berry (Steep Theatre), the world premiere of Rebecca Gilman's LUNA GALE directed by Robert Falls (Goodman Theatre) as well as its west coast premiere in Los Angeles (Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre). Other regional theatre includes Jackie Sibblies-Drury's WE ARE PROUD TO PRESENT... (Theater Emory), Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of DIAL M FOR MURDER (Theatre Squared), Lauren Gunderson's THE WICKHAMS: CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY (Capital Stage), ROMEO & JULIET (Southwest Shakespeare), and work with Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, Teatro Vista, Red Orchid, TimeLine, Primary Stages, and Chicago Shakespeare Theater.

Colin can be seen on TV in Chicago Med and Chicago P.D. (NBC), as well as independent film and television projects including Mallory Raven-Ellen Backstrom's Be Here With Me, Nine Lives directed by Dewayne Perkins, and the short film Con Vex directed by Samantha Aldana. He grew up acting, singing, and dancing before graduating from The Theatre School at DePaul University, and studying internationally at the British American Drama Academy (BADA) in Oxford, England and the Roy Hart Centre at Malérargues, France.
