PABLO, a new musical based on the early life of legendary artist Pablo Picasso, is being introduced to the theater industry and public in the spirit of hit Broadway musicals like Hadestown and Jekyll and Hyde, as a fully orchestrated concept album with a cast of Broadway, Off-Broadway, and national touring performers.

Bill Hanney's Theatre By The Sea (TBTS) concludes the 2017 summer season with THE PRODUCERS, the Mel Brooks laugh-out-loud spectacle. THE PRODUCERS, runs for a special 4-week engagement starting Wednesday, August 16 and ending Sunday, September 10.

On October 14, 2016 at 8:00PM, The New York Pops, led by Music Director Steven Reineke, launched its 34th season at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, celebrating the legacy and timeless works of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. In celebration of the 60th Anniversary of their landmark production of My Fair Lady, The New York Pops will highlight the songwriting team's iconic collaborations from the Golden Age of Broadway, including selections from Camelot, Brigadoon, Gigi, and Paint Your Wagon. Guest artists Colin Donnell and Laura Osnes of Broadway fame alongside operatic baritone Nathan Gunn will bring these legendary show tunes to life with the full 78-piece New York Pops. The orchestra and soloists will be joined by Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA.

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre, presents two free, staged readings this fall: Are You Now or Have You Ever Been by Eric Bentley, directed by Apollo Dukakis, on Wednesday, November 11 at 7 pm; and, on Monday, November 16 at 7PM, in partnership with East West Players, The Recognition of Shakuntala by Kalidasa, translated by W. Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe winning actor Beau Bridges will be honored with the inaugural Betty Garrett Lifetime Achievement Award at the 50th Anniversary Gala of Theatre West, September 13th at the Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood. Founded in 1962, Theatre West, an internationally acclaimed non-profit arts organization, is home to the oldest continuously running theater company in Los Angeles. Dedicated to supporting artists and enriching the community, Theatre West provides world class theater presentations for adults, a professional children's theatre and much needed arts education programs in underserved city schools. Broadway star Betty Garrett died in Los Angeles at the age of 91. Garrett died Saturday at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, most likely from an aortic aneurysm, according to her son Garrett Parks. Garrett was in good health and even taught her musical comedy class at Theater West on Wednesday night. Theater West is a non-profit organization which she helped found. Friday, she checked into the hospital with heart trouble and died the next morning, with her family at her side.
