The Audio Publishers Association has announced finalists for the 2023 Audie Awards®, the premier awards program recognizing distinction in audiobooks and spoken-word entertainment. Following a return to in-person events in October 2020, the Obie Award-winning Target Margin Theater has announced details for a series of artist residencies with showings as part of a new edition of Magic in Plain Sight.

Following a return to in-person events in October 2020, Target Margin Theater has announced a new edition of Magic in Plain Sight that will take place from May 8–June 19. Magic in Plain Sight is comprised of Now Go and Act Accordingly, and a series of one-week artist residencies with showings at their conclusion.

Marin Theatre Company partners with Working Theatre (NYC) and five other theatre companies in presenting the West Coast Digital Debut of Leila Buck's interactive theatrical experience, American Dreams. In the year of COVID-19, digital productions are the new medium and companies are experimenting with available styles, either live recorded productions or in this case, a Zoom presentation similar to our work at home business meetings.

As part of its third season in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, Target Margin Theater will continue its multi-year exploration of The One Thousand and One Nights with P*ssyc*ck Know Nothing, a new work that wrestles with The Porter and the Three Ladies of Baghdad stories from the collection of classic Silk Road tales.

On August 30, TheatreSquared (T2) will stage a special workshop production of 10,000 Balconies as the first offering in the Spring Theatre at T2's new home in downtown Fayetteville. This new play, conceived, created and directed by Kholoud Sawaf (director of T2's Vietgone), loosely inspired by Romeo and Juliet, is set in modern Syria. 10,000 Balconies is an intimate window into the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world, suffused with its poetry, music, dance, and movement, and centered on a story of love in contemporary Damascus. With original music performed live by Hadi Eldebek (Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road project ensemble) and members of the cast, 10,000 Balconies is an immersive performance experience, offered in Northwest Arkansas from August 30 until September 1. The play's three-year developmenta?"which included a series of artist-driven workshops and retreats in Northwest Arkansas and New Yorka?"and public performances were made possible by a major grant from the Building Bridges Program of the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.

Writing the book, music, lyrics of a show seems a daunting task, but Aya Aziz knows how to do it, as well as star in the show herself. Aya Aziz, a recent graduate of Hunter College, stars in Eh Dah? Questions for my Father, a show she wrote that is based on her life and family.
