Written in response to the political unrest that followed World War I, The Gas Heart is one of the most famous avant-garde plays ever performed. A hallmark of Europe’s Dadaist movement, the play can be viewed as a parody of classical drama or a passionate love story. Watch fascinating characters, each representing a facial feature, grapple with how to relate to each other in a world where language has failed.
