"The Sister I Never Had", is a new drama that will premiere at The Producers Club in the beginning of October for two performances. This is a play that centers around the turbulent relationship between Deborah and Sophia. Two sisters that have each built somewhat happy lives without knowing each other existed. However, everything changes when their mother Rachel passes away, and her last wish is for Deborah to find her sister. Deborah, who would do anything for her mother, even though she was never the best mother in the world, immediately starts her search to find Sophia. But their explosive meeting exposes many secrets about Rachel, and these sisters cannot seem to give their relationship a new beginning.

Unfortunately, Sophia rejects Deborah 's affection and kindness as she still harbors alot of pain from Rachel's abandonment when she was growing up. As things go from bad to worse, Deborah's daughter, Melissa who loves and idolizes her mother dearly, worries that this is all taking a toll on Deborah's health and takes a stand that they must stay away from each other. Meanwhile, Sophia's loving husband Tom, is a calming, and growing force that advises Sophia to allow the situation to take it's natural course, and not let her emotions get the best of her. But are all these efforts enough to bring harmony back into their lives? This play begs the question: Can these two sisters ever come together, or should they have never met in the first place?

About Julia Genoveva (Playwright/Producer/Director) Julia Genoveva has been in the entertainment industry for nearly over two decades. Born in Ecuador and raised in the Bronx, she transitioned from studying at The Fashion Institute of Technology to pursuing a career in acting, writing, producing, and directing. In 2009, she founded Genoveva Productions with the mission to produce compelling original, classical and contemporary plays that will make a lasting impact on our audiences. Julia has had several of her plays produced in various festivals: The Secret Theatre Festival, SPF: Boo!, Lav2025, NYC2025 (Which runs at The Players Theatre), Summer/Winter NY Festival (Hudson Guild Theatre). Recently, Julia wrote the short, father and daughter drama "Esteban" which was directed by her long time friend/collaborator KM Jones and was part of the Summer One-Act Festival in the Secret Theatre. Julia continues to provide a safe, encouraging, and fun environment for playwrights and actors to come together and create. Genoveva Productions is dedicated to Julia's late Grandfather, renowned Chilean filmmaker Sigifredo Salas. He was a pioneer in contributing to bringing sound to moving pictures during the Golden Age of films in Latin America.
