This ‘Songbird’ is flying back to NYC after two sold-out performances in NYC last fall with an updated and enhanced version of “From 8 Tracks to Livestreams – this time with An Album Release!” and a 5 piece band! Meri will take you on an engaging, emotional journey of music influences starting with the old-time standards our parents played, to our own groovy music, what our kids listen to, and ultimately, to our current favorites. BIO: As soon as she could speak, MERI ZIEV began singing with the 8-tracks in her father’s Buick Riviera. Then she took a detour and spent 35 years as a speech-language pathologist - which explains her joy in communicating with audiences through the language of music and lyrics! Ziev is at home performing pop music and standards, headlining jazz shows, presenting hybrid performance-lectures and workshops on “lyric interpretation from a word-nerd”, providing cabaret coaching, and appearing as a featured vocalist with the Pops Orchestra of the Palm Beaches. Meri has performed on stages throughout the country, in NYC, Chicago, St. Louis, Austin, and back home in Florida, including Delray Beach Playhouse, The Arts Garage and Lake Worth Playhouse – not to mention at dozens of Senior communities. Meri Ziev is the President and Co-Founder of the Not-for-Profit community South Florida Cabaret Singers.
