Frigid sopranos and over-sexed belters. Femme fatales and monstrous mothers. Shrews and saints, #girlbosses and #tradwives, unlikeable female protagonists…
Casey Erin Clark knows the world loves labels and boxes for women, because she’s been hard to define for her whole professional life (although the press has described her onstage as “deliciously talented”, “angelic”, “sardonic”, “oozing strength and confidence”, “radiating vulnerability”, “seductive”, and her personal favorite: “like a young, gifted Carol Burnett”). A Broadway baby turned multi-hyphenate, a loud girl who now amplifies others, she’s spent the last dozen years exploring the unwinnable game that is public-facing womanhood, and now… she’s ready to burn it all down. Musically, of course.
In this expedition through the female archetypes we love (and love to hate) and her own journey as a “difficult woman”, Casey unearths the real stories, the hilarious contradictions, and the glorious edges beneath the stereotypes.
Expect Broadway, pop, the Great American Songbook, a killer all-girl band, and possibly… Venn diagrams.
_______________
Casey Erin Clark is a multi hyphenate actor, recording artist, entrepreneur, writer, podcast host, and “walking exclamation point.” A small town Illinois theater kid who moved to NYC, landed on multiple city stages large and small, toured the country and various regional theaters, and ended up on the Oscar stage with the cast of Les Misérables and just behind Cynthia Erivo’s right shoulder with the Broadway Inspirational Voices at the Tony Awards in 2025, she also developed an obsession with who gets heard, why, and how. Alongside Julie Fogh, she co-founded Vital Voice Training in 2014 to explore her favorite huge questions: how does power work? Why are women’s voices so uniquely scrutinized? And how do we build a better world by expanding the definition of what leadership looks and sounds like? Ask her about the glorious feminism of romance novels and the best breakfast restaurants across America.
