The Shady Grove Coffeehouse folk music concert series continues its 24th season on Saturday, February 21 with a concert featuring Americana-roots and Appalachian folk duo The Honey Dewdrops.
Americana duo The Honey Dewdrops – Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish – long felt the push-and-pull between their original roots in the Appalachian Mountains and long-term home in urban Baltimore before relocating recently to Staunton. You’ll hear it in their harmony-soaked songs and the mastery of their instruments’ acoustic tones, but also in their songwriting, which reflects the hard realities of today. No Depression has commented that “The Honey Dewdrops have a way of filling their songs with humanity, using their beautiful playing and harmonies to emphasize what connects us all.”
The concert begins at 7:30 PM on February 21 at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church, 11105 Cauthorne Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059. Doors open at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20 in advance; $25 at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted free of charge; teens 13-18 are admitted at half price.
