Fatty Lumpkin and the Love Hogs Perform At Lime Kilm 6/5

On Saturday, June 5th, Fatty Lumpkin and the Love Hogs perform their own brand of classic rock and roll at Theater at Lime Kiln. The group, once a Lexington staple, has performed to enthusiastic crowds at Lime Kiln the last two years. Local band Honest Scoundrels will open the evening at 6:30pm.
SHENANDOAH Opens Wayside Theatre’s 49th Season, Runs 6/5-7/3

Wayside Theatre Artistic Director Warner Crocker announced the 2010-2011 Season Opener, cast and performance schedule for the musical, SHENANDOAH. Shenandoah runs June 5 through July 3rd. The musical is written by Gary Geld, Peter Udell, Phillip Rose and James Lee Barrett. The production is sponsored by Heirloom Emporium.
Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Band Comes To Lime Kiln

On Friday, June 11 at 7:30pm, Lime Kiln hosts a Southern Rock night with Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band Second Helping. Founded in 1988 in Tampa, Florida by Chris McCallister. Second Helping was the first Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band in the United States.

The Four County Players of Barboursville, VA have scheduled the next two Saturdays, June 5 and 12 as spring clean up days. They will be gathering at Four County Players, 5256 Governor Barbour Street, at 10 AM and working until 2PM. They need a few pick up trucks to assist with the last of the barn clean-out at Barboursville Vineyard. Most of the items from the 'Shakespeare at the Ruins' day have been moved to the playhouse, but their are a few large items that remain to be moved.

The series of four, free concerts will begin on Sunday, June 27 at 5 p.m. and will be held in the gazebo of McLean Central Park, 1468 Dolley Madison Blvd. Free parking is available at the McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue.

Four County Players in Barboursville (5256 Governors Barbour Street) will kick off their Comedy in the Cellar Series with Bent Theatre Company and Wu Prov Academy joining them for an evening of Improv on Friday, April 30 at 8pm. Four County Players 2010-2011 Summer Musical Season begins with The Price Street Players, Ltd. Version of ALICE IN WONDERLAND July 23 through August 15. Auditions will be held Sunday, April 25 at 4pm and Monday, April 26 at 7 pm. And tickets are on sale for the comedy Sylvia, May 7-22 at www.fourcp.org.

Previews will begin today at Virginia's Signature Theatre for the world premiere musical Sycamore Trees written by Ricky Ian Gordon, the award-winning composer of the opera The Grapes of Wrath and the musicals Dream True and My Life with Albertine. A starry Broadway cast portrays Gordon's own family story - complete with a tough Bronx-born father and former 'Borscht Belt' singer/comedian mother - in a tale of two generations' struggles and triumphs in the decades from World War II through the 1990s.
