The Wayside Theatre's Student 2010 Young Playwriting Festival is Monday, May 3 at Wayside Theatre in Middletown. "Ashes to Ashes" a Staged Reading styled performance is on the main stage at 7:00 PM and the admission is Free to the public, with a "Talk Back" with the author, Tyler F. Tharpe at the conclusion of the performance. The Playwrighting Festival is sponsored by First Bank, BB & T Bank and Virginia Commission for the Arts.
First Place winner, Tyler F. Tharpe is a senior at Skyline High School. She will receive a Staged reading of her one-act play, the T. Carter Fussell Award for Outstanding 2010 Playwright, a $100 Savings Bond from First Bank and two tickets to a production during the 2010-2011 Season. The Second Place winner was Noah Scheibmeir, a senior at Skyline High School in Front Royal, VA.
Wayside Theatre is the second oldest professional theatre in The Commonwealth of Virginia and is celebrating its 48th second of presenting high quality, professional entertainment.
