Swingposium at CSPS Hall

Created and produced by San Jose Taiko and co-presented by TaikoArts Midwest and Theater Mu, this immersive show blends live taiko drumming, jazz, and swing dance to tell the true story of how Japanese Americans found joy and hope in WWII incarceration camps. The all-ages, interactive event features cast member Emily Kuroda of Gilmore Girls, along with community member Gloria Kumagai sharing her family's history. Local artists including Ensō Daiko, Hopkins High School Jazz Band, Twin Cities Youth Jazz Band, Momoko Tano, Michelle de Joya, Morgan Kempton, and Ruby Suro join the San Jose Taiko performers. This marks the first time Swingposium has been presented in the Midwest.
