Matrescence explores the challenges faced by Margot, an unmarried, pregnant queer woman in her thirties, as she navigates the complexities of informing her ultraconservative Republican parents about her pregnancy. Using the phases of pregnancy, childbirth, and the fourth trimester as a narrative structure, the play delves into themes of motherhood and identity in the modern world. Directed by CJ Williams, the performance features a cast that includes Bréon LaDawn, Princess Beyoncé Jones, Edward Colon, La’Paige, and Larry Rink.
