The Great Behind is a comedy by Carmen Peláez that reimagines Cyrano de Bergerac in Miami. Sylvia is a sharp-witted librarian whose body draws attention while her true self goes unseen, and she harbors a secret love for her best friend. When he falls for her beautiful new coworker, Sylvia agrees to ghostwrite the love letters that will win his heart, giving voice to another woman's romance while suppressing her own. Peláez, a Miami native making her fifth collaboration with Miami New Drama, delivers a funny and deeply romantic exploration of beauty, desire, and the courage it takes to be truly seen.
