Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida's Spring Gala celebrates the company's 29th season with an evening of neoclassical and classical ballet featuring artists from around the world. The program includes Danzón, choreographed by Yanis Pikieris to music by Arturo Márquez, a Pas de Deux from La Traviata set to Giuseppe Verdi's score, and Shostakovich Suites, choreographed by Vladimir Issaev. Also featured is Tarde en la Siesta, a work by Cuban choreographer Alberto Méndez restaged in collaboration with Issaev, set to original recordings by Ernesto Lecuona. The evening concludes with the U.S. premiere of Polovtsian Dances, drawn from Alexander Borodin's opera Prince Igor, featuring a company of 32 dancers in a production choreographed by Issaev.
