Play titles such as 3 Egg-cellent Eggs, Flipper's Fright, Three Mice Save the Day and The Postman That Bit Back! represent the creativity in the minds of the Young Playwrights. Florida Studio Theatre will celebrate the achievements of the winning playwrights with the Young Playwrights Festival Day on Saturday, May 14, 2011. Over 300 people will travel to Sarasota from as far as Miami and across the seas (Vladimir, Russia, Tel Mond, Israel and Dunfermline, Scotland) to see the plays and receive recognition.

Orlando Shakespeare Theater's Artistic Director, Jim Helsinger, announced the final two plays of the Signature Series 2011-2012 Season. The regional premiere of God Of Carnage, Yasmina Reza's 2009 Tony Award-Winning comedy of grownups behaving badly will run from October 12 - November 13, 2011 in the Goldman Theater. While the Orlando premiere of Red, John Logan's electrifying new drama about artist Mark Rothko that won six 2010 Tony Awards including Best Play, will conclude the series.

The homage will be centered on Ratner's filmmaking career and early days growing up in Miami Beach. 'Shooter Series: Volume 1' will be used as a visual guide, highlighting clips from his lesser known works including home movies, student films, music videos and commercials. Features directed by Ratner include, among others, the 'Rush Hour' franchise, 'Red Dragon,' and 'X-Men: The Last Stand.' Soon to be released by Universal Pictures will be his latest directorial effort, 'Tower Heist,' starring Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller.
