The anniversary of both Esther Rolle's birth and death are in November, and to celebrate the achievements of this amazing woman, who is also buried in Pompano Beach, The Rock Road Restoration Historical Group will present a special exhibit at The Historic Ali Cultural Arts Center (www.aliarts.org), which will run from November 1 through December 2, 2017.

Evening Star Productions will kick off their newest project, Sol After Dark, with a one-act adaptation of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. The Entercom Radio Miami produced Riptide Music Festival powered by Ford is excited to announce that Grammy Award-winning R&B group Boyz II Men have been added as a major headliner to the two-day event which will feature more than 20 bands within the alternative, pop, rock and adult contemporary music genres. Last year, over 25,000 people got caught up in the awesome beach party, and this year's festival will pull in even more music lovers. Riptide will take place on December 2nd and 3rd on Fort Lauderdale Beach, across from the Bahia Mar Resort. Networks Presentations LLC presents The Sound of Music, featuring music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. The musical was adapted into an Academy Award winning film in 1965 starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. It is this beloved film version that is firmly and fondly remembered by many. Several songs from the musical have become familiar standards, including 'Edelweiss,' 'My Favorite Things,' 'Climb Every Mountain,' Do-Re-Mi' and the title song. The Sound of Music understandably remains one of America's favorite family musicals.
