Holocaust Museum LA showcases the Teicholz Film Series, featuring five screenings of films that delve into the aftermath of the Holocaust. On July 17, the series presents The Pawnbroker, a 1964 drama directed by Sidney Lumet, which follows Sol Nazerman, a concentration camp survivor played by Rod Steiger, who struggles with his painful past while running a pawn shop in East Harlem. The film also stars Geraldine Fitzgerald, Brock Peters, Jaime Sánchez, and features Morgan Freeman in his film debut. Following the screening, there will be a panel discussion to explore the themes presented in the film.
