Back by popular demand after a sold-out premier run, VULGAR is here for one night only! "VULGAR" is a comedic immersive dance theater event that invites audiences into the social dancing culture of the 1910s while critiquing the rigid moral and gender norms of the time. "VULGAR" was inspired by an original copy of the 1914 book Modern Dancing by Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Castle, a seminal text that both instructed readers on proper social dance techniques and served as a moral guide, imploring proper etiquette as a way to curb one’s vulgar tendencies. The performance blends historical and contemporary dance movement, spoken text read from Modern Dancing, and theatrical staging to invoke a humorous yet thought-provoking commentary on societal expectations, past and present. Choreography and Production: Stephanie Mizrahi Performers: Lydia McDonald, Stephanie Mizrahi, Ryan Nuss, Kaitie Richman, Mizuki Sako, Makena Sekimoto, and Ashley Shukman
