Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum celebrates its 50th Anniversary in high style with a summer-long season of theater, music, performance and other festivities at its spectacular, one-of-a-kind outdoor venue in Topanga. The anniversary season features four mainstage plays performed in repertory (June 10–Oct. 7); a 50th Anniversary Weekend Gala (Aug. 4–Aug. 6); an Americana Harvest Festival and reprise of The Woody Guthrie Story, Theatricum’s tribute to the famed folksinger, labor leader and activist who was a family friend and lived on the property in his later years (Oct. 8); and the company’s annual Holiday Family Faire (Dec. 9). Additional satellite events include comedy improv with Theatricum’s resident troupe, Off the Grid, at the end of each month (June 30, July 27, Aug. 31, Sept. 28); and the company’s annual Under the Oaks salon series on Fridays in September (Sept. 8–Sept. 29).Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum, 1419 N. Ellen Geer’s new compilation of Shakespeare's best-known history plays does nothing to address the misogynistic, xenophobic views that have led to Margaret of Anjou’s historical presentation (or any other woman’s) as a stereotypical villain. Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum continues its 50th anniversary repertory season with A Perfect Ganesh, the magical, poetic, Pulitzer Prize nominated play by Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally. The Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC), which presented its first awards for excellence in Los Angeles, Orange County, and Ventura County a half-century ago, has begun the gala celebration of its 50th anniversary by announcing its nominations for the year 2018 (Dec. 1, 2017 - Nov. 30, 2018).

Odyssey Theatre Ensemble opens its 50th anniversary season with the Los Angeles premiere of Hir, a darkly funny, shockingly absurd and endlessly surprising vision of a world in transition by MacArthur genius Taylor Mac. Bart DeLorenzo directs for a Jan. 19 opening at the Odyssey Theatre in West L.A., with performances continuing through March 17.
