The Soraya celebrates both its 10th Anniversary and Opening Night of the 2021-22 Season with a free performance—Grammy Award winner Arturo O'Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra performing his cross-border collaboration Fandango at the Wall.
Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra returns to The Soraya under the helm of a?oewunderkinda?? chief conductor Tel Aviv born Lahav Shani on Wednesday, March 25 at 8:00pm with a program featuring the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 with Shani conducting and performing the piano solo and the Bartók Concerto for Orchestra. This concert is part of city-wide Violins of Hope project.
Virtuoso violinist Joshua Bell brings the renowned Academy of St Martin in Fields Orchestra to The Soraya where the Beethoven 250th celebration is well underway this season. Bell and the distinguished chamber orchestra will perform Beethoven's iconic Symphony No. 5, as well as the great violin concerto by Italian musical genius Niccolò Paganini.
The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts will present Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) for the third consecutive year on Friday, February 7 at 8:00pm. LACO's new Music Director Jaime Martín will conduct the highly anticipated U.S. premiere of Albert Schnelzer's Burn My Letters: Remembering Clara. The program also features Dvořák's radiant Symphony No. 6 and renowned German violinist Christian Tetzlaff performing Beethoven's Violin Concerto which continues The Soraya's celebration of Beethoven's 250th anniversary this season. Upcoming Beethoven performances also includes Pinchas Zukerman conducting Beethoven Symphony No. 7 with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (Jan. 24), Joshua Bell conducting Beethoven Symphony No. 5 with Academy of St. Martin in the Fields (March 4), and Lahav Shani conducting Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 with Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra featuring pianist Nelson Freire (March 25).
The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts continues its Beethoven 250th celebration as it presents the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra featuring Pinchas Zukerman as Principal Guest Conductor and Violin Soloist on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 8pm. With a celebrated career encompassing five decades, Pinchas Zukerman is one of the world's most sought-after and versatile musicians, as a violin and viola soloist, conductor, and chamber musician. The 2019–20 season marks Zukerman's eleventh as Principal Guest Conductor of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. His extensive discography includes more than 100 titles, for which he earned two GRAMMY Awards and 21 nominations.
After four decades of world-wide success, including many award-winning recordings and newly commissioned works, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio continues to dazzle audiences and critics alike with its performances. Now, America's premier trio will celebrate Beethoven's 250th anniversary with two nights at The Soraya performing several of the composer's most beloved work as part of the intimate Onstage Sessions Chamber music series.
In the coming year, the classical music world celebrates the 250th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's birth.
Violinist Itzhak Perlman, one of the reigning artists of our day, will make a rare appearance for a recital to inaugurate the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts' 2019-2020 Season on September 19 at 7pm. Perlman is accompanied by Rohan De Silva, piano.
