Rent, written by Jonathan Larson, follows a group of young artists navigating love, loss, and survival during the AIDS crisis in New York City's East Village. This production, directed by Telly Leung, reimagines the musical through the lens of a filmmaker, incorporating live onstage filming projected in real time to capture the urgency and intimacy of a community determined to live fully. The show received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and three Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Score.
