Roz is everybody’s most passionate theater friend, constantly promoting her next play. What makes her special? She’s lives in medieval times and might just be the first ever woman playwright. After presenting her new brazen sex comedy to the most important critic of all—the Roman Emperor—and getting panned, Roz is catapulted into a time-warping journey through contemporary, though still medieval, Hollywood. In the spirit of “Her Vision, Her Voice," the focus of Skylight Theatre Company’s 40th season includes Elizabeth Dement’s No Place Like Gandersheim, directed by Randee Trabitz with an all-female creative and production team. This is the second of three new plays being offered by female playwrights and directors this year.

The Sandwich Ministry is an intimate, small town story. It is about faith, smelly church centers, natural disasters, loss, sandwich fixings, and the struggle to find meaning and community. Playwright Miranda Rose Hall celebrates the unassuming, rich beauty of female friendship and the things that keep us going when everything else falls apart.
In the spirit of their 40th season with its focus on Her Vision, Her Voice, Skylight Theatre Company is presenting the second of three new plays by female playwrights and directors, Elizabeth Dement's No Place Like Gandersheim, directed by Randee Trabitz. Opening on May 20, the play features an all-female creative and production team. I was curious to find out the inspiration for Dement's lead character Roz, the time-traveling aspect of the play, and what insights the playwright learned along the way about women in the entertainment industry.
LA Theatre Week, a two-week-long celebration of the performing arts, will be happening from March 13 to 26. With tickets to more than 75 productions starting at just $20, beginning on February 27th, audiences will be able to experience high-caliber shows at prices that democratize access to the best of LA culture.
