Mother Courage and Her Children at Theatre West

Mother Courage and Her Children, Bertolt Brecht's classic anti-war drama, will be presented as a staged reading at Theatre West in Hollywood on April 23rd, 2026, directed by Louis Fantasia. Laura James leads the cast in the title role, with Tim Realbuto as Pieter Lamb (The Cook) and four-time Emmy Award winner Nigel Lythgoe as The Recruiting Officer/Colonel Poldy/Old Peasant. The children of the title are played by Xander Toti as Eilif, David Baer as Swiss Cheese, and Emily Fabretti as Kattrin, with David Shofner, Maegan McConnell, and a large ensemble rounding out the cast. The production is produced by Alexandria Sanders, with music direction by Victoria Lavan and piano accompaniment by Andrew Karatay.
