LOOKING WEST: How the Myth of the Western Frontier Got its Start at MUSE/IQUE

Led by Artistic & Music Director Rachael Worby with Damon Daunno, Raye Zaragoza, Glynn Turman, and the MUSE/IQUE Orchestra, this concert explores how music shaped the myth of the American cowboy. The program traces the cowboy songbook from traditional range songs and Broadway showtunes to film scores and rock anthems, including works by Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, the Eagles, Bob Dylan, and Ennio Morricone. Damon Daunno, Tony Award nominee for Oklahoma!, and singer-songwriter Raye Zaragoza provide vocals, while Emmy-winning actor Glynn Turman performs cowboy poetry and spoken word. The orchestra features Gabe Witcher on fiddle, Mike Witcher on Dobro, Andrew Synowiec on guitar, Ross Garren on harmonica, and Alan Hampton on bass. Performances take place at The Huntington and Skirball Cultural Center.
