TOOTSIE (The Musical), is a fun opening evening for the seventy-first season of Starlight Theatre at Swope Park across from the Kansas City Zoo. Tootsie (The Film) was so good it is preserved it on the United States National Film Registry. Add the sea-change in attitudes surrounding same-sex relationships and this show is set up to be a very tough sell. Remarkably, TOOTSIE (The Musical) absolutely works.
Starlight will present the Tony Award-Winning Musical Tootsie to open the 2023 AdventHealth Broadway Series at Starlight Theatre May 19-21.
After great success with a limited presale for Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the fall, Starlight will release another block of single tickets for this summer's Broadway season. These tickets will be available for a limited time only in advance of Valentine's Day, Friday, February 10 through Sunday, February 12. Tickets start at $15 each and will be available online at kcstarlight.com. Single tickets will not be available again until April.
For the first time ever, Starlight will make single tickets for next summer's Broadway season available for a limited time only, Friday, November 25 through Monday, November 28 - Black Friday through Cyber Monday.
Tuesday, May 4, 2021 – The Broadway In Kansas City Series announced this morning that the Broadway tour of HAMILTON, originally scheduled for Sept. 28 - Oct. 10 at the Music Hall, has now been rescheduled to March 21 - April 2, 2023.
