Classic country blues from the Medway Delta. Pete Molinari is one of the most talented British singer-songwriters around. Born into a large Maltese, Italian and Egyptian family in Chatham, Kent, Pete developed a deep infatuation with Billie Holliday, John Coltrane, Leadbelly and Bob Dylan from an early age. His unique vocal style, reminiscent of a classic 60s Nashville sound, was honed over a two year period travelling around the USA and playing the bars and cafes of New York’s Greenwich Village.
On his return to England, Pete recorded the first of his three albums with cult painter, poet and musician Billy Childish, and began to achieve the kind of critical success that has since seen him nominated as Best Newcomer at the Mojo Awards, appear on Later With Jools Holland and receive regular praise from one of his biggest fans, Bruce Springsteen. Pete's timeless songs will be performed here with backing from his full band.
