BARE, the cult-hit coming-of-age musical that took Los Angeles and New York by storm, comes to Kansas City in a new, vibrant staging. The award-winning rock-pop musical plays at the Longview Community College Black Box Theatre July 9-18.

One of the most acclaimed musicals of our time, this moving study of the enigmatic painter Georges Seurat won a Pulitzer Prize for its deeply insightful and highly personal examination of life through art and the artist Directed by Barb Nichols. This Leawood Stage Company production will be concert style. Be prepared to sing 32 bars of of a musical piece. Accoompanist will be provided. Also bring a photo and resume.

This year's production will be Aeschylus' great classic tragedy, The Persians, to be presented outdoors in the South steps of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art July 10th and 11th. The play is based on the Persian war a war of liberty versus despotism.
