Photo Flash: First Look at Sally Struthers in HELLO, DOLLY!

By:

Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers stars in the Alhambra's next performance, Hello, Dolly! Ms. Struthers, who rise to acting fame began with the hit TV show All in the Family, is making her first appearance at the Alhambra and joins a growing list of stars that has recently included Jamie Farr, Barry Williams and Loretta Switt. First produced on Broadway in 1964, winning ten Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hello, Dolly just opened at the Alhambra on February 29. Check out photos of Struthers in action below!

Hello, Dolly has enjoyed three Broadway revivals and was also made into a 1969 film that was nominated for seven Academy® Awards. The show's album Hello, Dolly! An Original Cast Recording was inducted into the Grammy® Hall of Fame in 2002.

Dolly Levi is a brassy widow with a knack for matchmaking. She takes a trip to New York to meet a millionaire, Mr. Vandergelder whom has been courting another woman. She fixes up his store clerks with the woman he had been courting with hopes of making a match with Mr. Vandergelder herself.

Inspired by the show's setting, the menu for Hello Dolly will have a big city feel. The plated meal will include, a starter course choice of either Wild Mushroom Cappuccino Soup pr Panzenella Salad (a bread and tomato salad with herb vinaigrette dressing). The Entrée Choices include Pan seared local Trout with Sweet Corn Succotash, Potato Dumplings and Smoked bacon or Brazilian style BBQ Beef With Scalloped Potatoes and Broccoli Or Mojo marinated Chicken with Smoked cheddar and green pea risotto. And for dessert, Chef DeJuan will continue his twist on the Alhambra's famous Chocolate Mouse (this time as a Chocolate Mousse Cake), as well as a choice of Buttermilk Pie or Crème Brulee.

"Hello Dolly" runs February 29 through April 8. Times are 8:00 PM for evening shows Tuesday through Sunday. Doors open at 6:00 PM and dinner starts at 6:30 PM. Matinees on Saturday are at 1:15 PM.
