The seventh installment of August Wilson’s monumental American Century Cycle, Two Trains Running is a masterwork from one of America’s greatest playwrights. Set in 1969, Wilson brings us inside a Pittsburgh diner in the Hill District, where urban renewal threatens to erase more than buildings. It threatens memory, legacy, and identity.
With humor, grit, and unmistakable heart, Wilson creates an unforgettable ensemble: Sterling (Daniel Kinney), chasing a second chance; Memphis (Lemec Bernard), fighting for the true worth of his life’s work; Hambone (Kevin Buckley), demanding what he’s owed; and Risa (BreSheena Kinney), carrying quiet strength. Over coffee and sharp exchanges, lives collide in ways that are funny, fierce, and moving. This is a story about dignity, survival, and the determination to claim your place in a changing world.
