Please prepare a short song of your choice from the classic period of Rock, Soul, and Country (think roughly between the years 1955-1975). No musical theatre songs please. An accompanist will be provided. Bring your book and a picture and resume, stapled together.

UNTITLED YAZBEK/MOSES MUSICAL
ACTOR 1 - Male Presenting, 40s - 50s. Any ethnicity. The Bandleader/Storyteller, who represents the author’s fascination with the story of Elmer McCurdy as it relates to fame and mortality. Narrates the show and fronts the band. Strong storyteller and singer with a direct, conversational, and powerful voice (Examples: Rockabilly, Iggy Pop). Playing an instrument is not required but if the skill exists it could be useful.
ACTOR 2 - Male Presenting, Mid 20s - 30s. White. Elmer McCurdy, the Dead Outlaw. A lost and angry young man with a need to matter and a few sparks of decency in his antisocial soul. A strong singer with both an edgy and vulnerable voice (Examples: Jack White and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes). Guitar skills a plus but not required.
ACTOR 3 - Female Presenting, 20s - 30s. Any ethnicity. Maggie, Millicent and various roles. Maggie is a young midwestern woman with a very clear plan for the American dream of success and family. Millicent grows from child to young adult in consultation with the Dead Outlaw. Also portrays various Americans from 1880 through 1976 anywhere between Searsmont, Maine and Long Beach, California. Has a rich and mournful singing voice.
ACTOR 4 - Male Presenting, 30s - 50s. API. Thomas Noguchi, LA County Coroner to the Stars. Also portrays various Americans of complex morality from 1880 through 1976 anywhere between Searsmont, Maine and Long Beach, California. Sings in all styles with a focus on old school crooning, à la Rat Pack.
ACTOR 5 - Male Presenting, 20s - 40s. Indigenous. Fourth Wall breaker who tells the story of Andy Payne. Also portrays various Americans of complex morality from 1880 through 1976 anywhere between Searsmont, Maine and Long Beach, California. Sings in all styles, a good harmonizer with a wide vocal range.
ACTORS 6 - 8 – Any gender/ethnicity, 20s - 40s. Portray various Americans of complex morality from 1880 through 1976 anywhere between Searsmont, Maine and Long Beach, California. Good harmonizers with a wide vocal range.
