Equity actors for various roles in the 2020 Season.

All SM positions have been filled.


PREPARATION

For BEEHIVE please prepare two short selections in the style of the show. For A CHRISTMAS CAROL please prepare a 1 minute monologue. If auditioning for all productions, prepare a brief song and a one minute monologue.

ALWAYS… PATSY CLINE

PATSY CLINE: Female, 24-35 (role is CAST) dynamic and passionate actress who can embody Patsy Cline in voice and spirit; ability to mimic her unique vocal sound is imperative. Contralto.

LOUISE SEGER: Female, 40-55 (role is CAST) strong storyteller with a big heart. Devoted fan of Patsy Cline who establishes a friendship with her through letter correspondence and finally meets her; a typical strong-willed, funny Texan woman; she has a great deal of interaction with the audience as she relates the relationship she develops with Patsy; strong comedic sense needed for this role.

Beehive: The ‘60s Musical matches big voices with big hairdos. From Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin, Beehive is a wailing musical tribute to the ladies who unmistakably left their mark on ‘60s music. Rock out with Respect, Natural Woman, My Boyfriend's Back, One Fine Day, Downtown and more!

Seeking:

WANDA (25+) - A strong actress as well as singer. She carries the bulk of the dialogue and narration throughout the revue. She is a leader - strong, powerful and engaging. She must have the ability to interact comfortably with the audience; African American

JASMINE (25+) - She portrays Diana Ross of the Supremes as well as the lead singer of the Chiffons, Judy Craig. Sings songs One Fine Day, Where Did Our Love Go? Come See About Me, and others; African American

GINA (25+) - Portrays Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin and the lead singer of the Starlets. Sings songs I Sold My Heart to a Junkman, A Fool in Love, Proud Mary, Respect and others. African American

LAURA (25+) - Portrays Janis Joplin; Lulu and others. Sings songs Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, To Sir With Love, Piece of My Heart, Try, Me and Bobby McGee, and others.

ALLISON (25+) - Of the six actresses, Alison has the most lyrical warm voice. She sings songs Downtown, Where the Boys Are, Society's Child, You Don't Have to Say You Love Me and others.

PATTIE (25+) - Sings the songs It's My Party, You Don't Know Me, Wishin' and Hopin', A Natural Woman, and others.

Seeking

EBENEZER SCROOGE (CAST) – Male, 50’s or older. Scrooge is a grumpy old man who has buried many memories by focusing only on his work and material success.

BOB CRATCHIT – Male, 30’s or older. Bob is a good-natured and hard-working man, doing his best to stay positive while supporting a large family and working for a very difficult boss.

FRED – Male, 25-35. Fred is the opposite of his uncle Scrooge-upbeat and optimistic, he celebrates his life.

MARLEY’S GHOST- Male, 40’s or older. The ghost of Jacob Marley shows the tragic end of a life lived in heavy emotions-anger and anguish mostly.

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS PAST-Female, 25 and older. The Ghost seems gentle and ethereal, but her questioning of Scrooge intentionally causes him to address memories he’d be happier to push aside.

MR. FEZZIWIG-Male, 40’s or older. Mr. Fezziwig is a huge personality who is loved by all and who wants nothing more than to share his success with everyone around him.

BELLE-Female, 20’s. Belle is the girl of Young Ebenezer’s dreams, who falls for him but is strong and independent enough to walk away.

BELLE’S HUSBAND-Male, 25-35. The man Belle ends up marrying instead of a Young Ebenezer and what was instead of what could have been

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT-Male, 30’s and older. Loud and boisterous, the Ghost lives in the moment but mixes his good nature with a serious understanding of the weight of time.
