Actors will read from sides, which will be provided at the auditions.
Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

1st Rehearsal: 8/5/14 Runs: 9/3/14 to 10/12.. (possible extension to 10/19 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre)

Breakdown

STEVE
Male 40-50. A charismatic and appealing legitimate star of huge budget action films. His natural swagger and bravado is beginning to show the hairline cracks of doubt as his career has started to trend down. He will do almost anything to hang on, and that makes him very funny indeed.

KAREN
Female. 40. A movie star also dealing with her about to wane career. She struggles against time valiantly, keeping herself in great shape physically, racing against the clock and in competition with hotter Hollywood beauties. She is blunt, ambitious, a survivor. Determined to stay in the game, no matter what.

BEV
Female. 40. Karen’s partner. She does not suffer fools gladly, thus is in constant clash with Steve’s uber-masculine posing. She is spirited, sarcastic, a bit cynical, and smart. She is impatient with all the games of show business and quick to deride the sexual politics that Karen and Steve play into. She is pretty much a no bullshit girl. Dry and dark wit.

MISSY
Female. 20s. She appears to be the stereotypical blonde bimbo, gum-chewing and vacuous and willing to do anything to make her man (Steve) happy. She prattles on and on in Hollywood speak and espouses all the popular trends of health and beauty that are California cliché. Don’t be fooled. In reality, she is very clear-sighted and has an agenda that will assure her security in a world that would be otherwise closed to her.
