MY FAIR LADY
[ELIZA DOOLITTLE] mid to late 20s, female, any race/ethnicity, soprano (A3-G5). A sharp-witted cockney flower girl who is the subject of a bet between Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering. Speaks in cockney and RP accents.
[HENRY HIGGINS] 40s to early 50s, male, any race/ethnicity. Baritone. Precise, direct, no nonsense master of dialects who bets Pickering he can turn Eliza Doolittle into a lady by changing the way she speaks. Speaks RP excellently.
[COLONEL PICKERING AND OTHERS] Doubles as COLONEL PICKERING and other parts. 40s-50+, male, any race/ethnicity. Baritone (C3-D4). A thoughtful and gentlemanly retired British officer and a linguist. May double other roles.
[ALFIE DOOLITTLE AND OTHERS] Doubles as ALFRED DOOLITTLE and other parts. 40s, male, any race/ethnicity. Baritone. Eliza Doolittle’s father – a cunning lower class inebriate, lover of life, a warm scammer, dragged into the middle class against his wishes. May double other roles.
[FREDDY EYNSFORD-HILL AND OTHERS] Doubles as FREDDY EYNSFORD-HILL and other parts. Male – Mid 20s to early 30s, tenor, any race/ethnicity. A well-to-do romantic who falls in love with Eliza. May double other roles.
[HARRY AND OTHERS] 20s-40s, male, any race/ethnicity. Tenor. One of Alfred’s rapscallion buddies. May play/double other roles.
[JAMIE AND OTHERS] 30s-50s, male, any race/ethnicity. Baritone. One of Alfred’s rapscallion buddies. May play/double other roles.
[MRS. PEARCE AND OTHERS] 40+, female, mezzo-soprano, any race/ethnicity. Mrs. Pearce, loyal and warm mistress of the Higgins house who balances his gruff demeanor. May double other roles.
