SYNOPSIS: Heather Krebs just wants a boyfriend. But how can she even navigate her way through high school if she might be the New Messiah? A small town in Ohio grapples with politics, religion and teenage romance in this eclectic pop musical.

SEEKING:

Heather Krebs (Female, 18+ to play 17, Black) CAST - a 17-year-old girl, smart, edgy, a little bit emo, natural comedic ability; a delightful combination of Wednesday Addams and Kat Elliot in Wendell and Wild. Has a thrilling pop vocal sound somewhere between Linda Ronstadt and Whitney Houston. Able to belt Gospel.

Zach/As Cast (Male, 18, Any Ethnicity) an 18-year-old boy, cool, a very cool bad boy with lots of swagger. A street artist. Tries very hard to be tough and misunderstood, but can’t help but be adorable and sweet underneath. Has an awkward teen energy, but also a teen dream boat rock n’roll energy. Powerful rock voice as well as some smooth R&B.

Kaisley/As Cast (Female, 18+ to play 17, Black, Latina, AAPI, Indigenous, MENASA) a popular 17-year-old girl, a little bit Regina, a little bit Gretchen – natural comedic ability, and loads of confidence, a born leader with a good head on her shoulders, even if she might appear to behave like a typical teen at times – in reality there is great depth to her. Powerful rock/pop/belt voice.

Ray/Booker/As Cast (Male, 40s, Any Ethnicity) Ray: a Busker at the local park, a coastal feeling hipster type, a little bit of a Jim Morrison vibe. Wise, effortlessly comfortable is his own skin, certainly the trickster. Secretly an Angel who is a bit mischievous and takes pleasure in messing with Heather. Natural comedic ability. Larger than life blues/rock/unique voice. Booker Ralston: Conservative Podcast host with a large ego. More traditional pure tenor. Seeking Broadway name.

Grace Krebs/As Cast (Female, 40s, Any Ethnicity) CAST - Heather’s mother, a mom with a 1950’s housewife from a sitcom mentality – doubles as various other characters. Alto.

Samuel/Stanley/As Cast (Male, 18+ to play 14, Any Ethnicity) CAST - Samuel Krebs: Heather’s 14-year-old brother. Has strong comedic skills and sings pop. Stanley: one of Heather’s disciples, who sings in a lot of the show sings Motown/Gospel. Strong tenor.

Agatha (Female, 50s+ to play ageless. Any Ethnicity) Presents as Heather’s elderly friend, seemingly in a coma (speaks directly to the audience), but secretly, she is G-d. Think Sofia Petrillo from The Golden Girls. Comedic of the highest caliber. Fantastic singer with power and a gospel sound. Seeking a recognizable Broadway name.

Ms. Parker/Doctor/As Cast (Female, 30s-40s, Any Ethnicity) CAST - Ms. Parker, Heather’s teacher, is a devoted woman of science, and cares deeply about her students who will also play several other characters. Strong alto.

Creature/Mr. Stevens/As Cast (Male, 18+ to play teens, Any Ethnicity) CAST - A variety of different characters including Creature, a teenage bully and Mr. Stevens: Principal at Heather’s school. Bari-tenor

Ted/Matthew/As Cast: (Male, 18+ to play teens, Any Ethnicity) Ted: Socially awkward and comedic, the leader of Heather’s disciples. Matthew Spiers: Totally self absorbed popular high school quarterback, and other roles. Strong pop, motown, and gospel voice. High tenor.

Macy/As Cast (Female, 18+ to play teens, Any Ethnicity) Macy: One of Heather’s disciples; cute, quirky and earthy.Pop/soul/Motown/gospel. Alto.
