DIRECTOR’S NOTE ON CASTING: This show explores the NYC punk scene in the early 2000’s and themes surrounding mental health, family and friendships, body positivity and loving oneself as you are! With that spirit in mind, to tell the story, the show requires a high energy, passionate, diverse and inclusive company for all the roles. We encourage submissions of all gender identities for all roles in this production.
SYNOPSIS: A depressed and anxious, 298 pound student, Troy Billings, is contemplating suicide when a homeless former student from Troy’s school, Curt McCrae, intervenes and saves his life. In turn, Curt insists that they form a band together with Troy on the drums. The only issue is that Troy can’t play drums, but together, they create the band Rage Tectonic. With little knowledge on the drums and a lot of support from his newfound friends, he jumps right into practicing for an upcoming gig. Through this process, he finds self-love and confidence while realizing that he is desperately trying to save Curt’s life from drug abuse and abuse.
