1st rehearsal: 2/11/13. Previews 3/8. Runs: 3/14 – 3/31/13. Performance schedule: Thursday - Friday - Saturday evening 8pm; Sunday matinees 2pm. Venue: Gene Frankel Theatre, 24 Bond Street, Manhattan.

NYC auditions will be held on January 30, by appointment only.

Synopsis:

Set in New York City, 1959. The Hess family move north. The father unjustly convicted of crimes he did not commit. His business partner follows them, clutching a fistful of IOU's. Will he throw them out of their new home onto the street?

Seeking:

MRS. HESS:

African-American female. Devout churchgoer, her husband falsely convicted of white-collar crimes. [45-55]

ELISS:

African-American male. Son of Mrs. Hess. High school teacher. (This role has been cast)

ELEONORA:

African-American female. Daughter of Mrs. Hess. Institutionalized but has fled back to the family at Easter. [18-25]

CHRISTINE:

African-American female. Eliss' fiancee. [23-30]

BENJAMIN:

African-American male. Bright high school senior with hopes for college scholarship, living with the Hess's. [18-25]

LINDKVIST:

African-American male. Seeming villain but appearances can be deceiving. (This role has been cast)
