Photo Flash: LET THE RIGHT ONE IN Makes Stage Premiere at The Ringwald Theatre

The Swedish cult phenomenon Let The Right One In has been an acclaimed novel, two movies, a TV pilot-and now a dark and visceral stage production that makes its Midwest debut at The Ringwald Theatre on January 5th, 2018.

Based on the 2004 novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist and adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne, Let The Right One In is a chilling, one-of-a-kind coming-of-age vampire love story. Oskar is a bullied, lonely, teenage boy living with his mother on a housing estate at the edge of town, when a spate of sinister killings rocks the neighborhood. Eli is the young girl who has just moved in next door. She doesn't go to school and never leaves the flat by day. Sensing in each other a kindred spirit, the two become devoted friends. What Oskar doesn't know is that Eli has been a teenager for a very long time...

Directed by Brandy Joe Plambeck, Let The Right One In stars Shane Nelson and Tiaja Sabrie as Oskar and Eli, and an ensemble cast featuring Sarah Burcon, Sean Ceglarek, Ryan Ernst, Artun Kircali, Jeffrey Shawn Miller, Joel Mitchell, and Mike Suchyta.

Performances will begin Friday, January 5th and play through Monday, January 29th

Show times are Friday, Saturday & Monday nights at 8:00 PM, plus 2 Sunday twilight shows at 5:00PM

Tickets are $20 for Thursday, Friday & Saturday performances; Sundays are $15, Monday nights-as always at the Ringwald-are $10

$5 Student Discount is available on Friday and Saturday performances, with valid student ID (Available at the box office on the day of the show)

Tickets can be purchased at www.TheRingwald.com or at the theatre box office. The Ringwald box office opens 45 minutes before performances and tickets can be purchased with cash or credit card. The Ringwald Theatre is located at 22742 Woodward Avenue in the Times Square of downtown Ferndale.

The Ringwald opened their doors ten years ago on May 11, 2007 with Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy. Quickly, The Ringwald became a mainstay of Detroit's theatre community. Past Productions include: Life Sucks, The Rocky Horror Show, Heathers The Musical, Hand to God, The Legend of Georgia McBride, Mr. Burns: a post-electric play, Glengarry Glen Ross, Stupid f-ing Bird, Angels in America, Into the Woods, A Streetcar Named Desire, August: Osage County, The Bad Seed, Making Porn, The Book of Liz, and Evil Dead: The Musical. The Ringwald was named 2009, 2012 and 2013 Best Theatrical Troupe by Real Detroit and Best Place to See Local Theatre in 2010, 2011 and 2012 by the readers of Metro Times.
