Feature: Creede Repertory Theatre Announces 2017 Season and Casting

By:

Creede Repertory Theatre is thrilled to announce its 2017 summer repertory season and casting. The CRT season features five mainstage plays, including the world-premiere production of General Store by Brian Watkins, directed by Christy Montour Larson. For young audiences, CRT offers the return of improvised musical Pants on Fire, KID Show: I Mac(kers) by Emily Van Fleet and Nathan Jones, and celebrates the 34th year of the Young Audience Outreach Tour (YAOT) with Albert Porter: Boy Explorer/ Niño Explorador by Lojo Simon. Creede Rep's improv troupe Boomtown enters its 11th year of late-night performances from June through September.

Artistic Director Jessica Jackson says, "What excites me most about our 2017 season is that the plays are very different, yet each resonates with the here and now in unexpected ways. Above all, repertory is about the conviction that all the work is essential and valuable: that a farce can have as profound an impact as a contemporary drama. Creede Rep is not producing each play in isolation, nor is our audience experiencing it that way."

Featuring both classic and contemporary writers on the Creede Repertory Theatre Mainstage and The Ruth Humphreys Brown Theatre, the repertory season includes:

Pants on Fire: May 20th to August 11th

She Loves Me: June 2nd to August 9th

The Syringa Tree: June 16th to August 26th

Arsenic and Old Lace: June 30th to August 10th

Talley's Folly: July 14th to September 15th

General Store: August 18th to September 16th

Boomtown Improv: June 24th to September 9th

Albert Porter: Boy Explorer: Young Audience Outreach Tour (YAOT)

The 2017 Acting Company includes Christy Brandt, Kate Berry, Anne F. Butler, Spencer D. Christensen, John DiAntonio, Logan Ernstthal, Jessica Jackson, Nathan Jones, Brian Kusic, Stuart Rider, Bethany Eilean Talley, Emily Van Fleet, Graham Ward, Rick D. Wasserman, and Caitlin Wise. New this year are Pat Moran, Bettina Lobo, CJ Salvani, Portland Thomas, Gina Velez, Claudio Venancio, Donovan Woods, and Josh Zwick. Full casting information is available at www.creederep.org.
